Mr. Haidle concentrates his practice in patent, trademark and trade secret law. He received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Central Florida in 1993 and a J.D., cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1998. Mr. Haidle is admitted in the State of Michigan and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Haidle worked with NASA and Morton Thiokol and emphasized his studies in structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, high-speed aerodynamics, and propulsion systems. He worked as a legal intern while attending law school, where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications and drafted a number of patentability and infringement opinions. During his career, Mr. Haidle has prepared and prosecuted patent applications covering a wide variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies including automotive interior systems, pedal assemblies, cable assemblies, automotive shifters, seating assemblies, transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, axles, brake systems, automotive steering assemblies, chassis components, climate control systems, beverage filling and capping machines, printing presses, vehicle testing systems, extruding machines, robotic assemblies, vehicle door and window seals, marine products, fastener assemblies, medical devices and semi-automatic firearms. Mr. Haidle has also prepared and prosecuted a number of computer algorithm patent applications, as well as method-of-doing-business applications.

Mr. Haidle is the co-group leader of the intellectual property department at Howard & Howard and is a co-author of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright section of the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education Business Forms Book. He has also drafted and negotiated numerous patent and trademark licenses on behalf of licensors and licensees.

Further, Mr. Haidle has significant litigation and dispute resolution experience in all areas of patent, trademark, unfair competition, and trade secret law. Mr. Haidle was co-counsel for Teleflex in the now infamous case of KSR International v. Teleflex that brought before the U.S. Supreme Court the issue of what obviousness standard should be applied in patent law.
